Magic Syllables - Reading Game
Magic Syllables turns one of reading’s most essential decoding skills—syllabification—into a joyful, hands-on learning adventure. Developed by Annemarie Roux for Yellow Tree Reading Academy, this resource helps learners “chop,” “chunk,” and “slice” words into smaller sound parts, making reading and spelling more intuitive and fun.
Grounded in the Science of Reading, Magic Syllables teaches children how to identify and divide words into syllables, helping them decode unfamiliar words, build fluency, and understand word structure. Using clapping, movement, and interactive card games, learners strengthen phonological and orthographic awareness while having fun.
